May we think of freedom not as the right to do what we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.” International Public Sr.Sec.School celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great zeal and exhilaration. The whole school wore a festive look as all the teachers and students were clad in at least one of the tricolours to show their solidarity. The cultural extravaganza started with lamp lighting and was followed by a series of mesmerizing dances, soulful patriotic songs, speeches by students and melodious instrumental music, arousing patriotic feelings in all.The students, dressed In the vibrant colours of the nation – green, white and saffron – performed a medley of heart touching patriotic songs complemented by the harmonious tunes of the keyboard. Through their serenade, they declared to be willing to sacrifice every thing for their nation and rejoiced in the unity that continued to exist despite their diversity. Academic Director Mr Harman Sandhu applauded the students for their patience, perseverance and love for the motherland. He entreated the students to be vigilant about their duties and responsibilities and blessed them. Principal, Mrs Sheetal Nathaniel, addressed the gathering by reiterating the way our brave freedom fighters sacrificed their lives, happiness and families – just so we could enjoy the taste of liberty. She encouraged the students to remain Indian at heart, whichever part of the world they decided to live in. The celebrations culminated with the National Anthem. Happy Independence Day to all!!
